3 major local job fairs provide opportunities for local job seekers


AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW / WAGT) – If you’re looking for a job, there are three big hiring fairs scheduled in the coming days.

Colombia County

Columbia County is hosting a career fair for a variety of skilled and professional positions on July 27 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Patriots Park Gym, located at 5445 Columbia Road in Grovetown.

Representatives of animal services, engineering services, fire services, fleet services, human resources, recreation services, library services, public transport, recreation, road construction, stormwater operations and compliance, technology services, traffic engineering and water services as well as the Columbia County Sheriff’s office will be on-site.

They will be able to provide interested candidates with an overview of available positions and answer questions.

Columbia County offers new base salary of $ 15 an hour, 11 paid holidays, employee pension plan and medical clinic, tuition reimbursement, free life insurance, training on site, a wellness program and a fitness center for employees.

T-Mobile customer service

T-Mobile is looking to staff its customer service call center in Augusta. The company will be hosting an on-site hiring event on July 21 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 3750 Wheeler Road, Augusta.

Positions start at $ 15 an hour, plus a compensation plan that includes: education reimbursement; medical, dental and visual services; discounts on telephone services; corresponding to 401 (k); and the annual employee share allocation program.

Augusta City Wide Career Fair

The City of Augusta will host its first city-wide career fair from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on July 31 at the Salvation Army Kroc Center, 1833 Broad St.

More than 60 employers are expected to be represented, including Augusta Technical College, Augusta-Richmond County, Burke County Sheriff‘s Office and Richmond County School Board.

Opportunities will include full-time and part-time jobs and internships.
