Anand Mahindra shares sarcastic ‘UK government recruitment ad’ after Liz Truss resigns


Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of Mahindra Group shared a video that mocked at Liz Truss’ resignation as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Truss resigned within 44 days of his term.

The video shared by Mahindra on Saturday was a fake recruitment call for the post of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Done by Larry & Paul, a duo of British comediansthe advertisement imitated Jobcentre Plus, a government agency in the UK which assists citizens in their job search.

The ad sarcastically points to the frequent changes among UK government job holders and states: “Enjoy a fast-paced and dynamic working environment alongside a team that changes virtually daily.”

He further mocks the credentials of former British prime ministers and says: ‘A criminal record, a history of previous failures, being prime minister before and left in disgrace? No problem, with our streamlined application process, you could be prime minister in just under seven days.”

The video ends with a quick read of the terms and conditions. “The successful candidate may lack integrity, moral altitude and shame. The UK government is an equal opportunity employer and accepts applications from any wealthy sociopath who has gone to Elton.

This video shared by Mahindra garnered more than two lakh views.

In September, CV-Library, a popular job search website, posted an ad that attacked former UK finance minister Rishi Sunak after losing the race to become Prime Minister to Liz Truss. In the billboard, CV-Library showed a photo of Sunak next to bold text that read “Didn’t get the job? We have jobs for everyone. Find one that works for you.
