Edgecombe Appoints New Director of Human Resources | Local News


Edgecombe County Director Eric Evans recently announced the selection of Veronica Hill as the new County Human Resources Director.

Hill will lead the office responsible for planning, directing and implementing the county’s human resources and staff processes. In this role, she will perform various human resources functions for the county’s 550 employees.

Hill has been in Edgecombe County for over 14 years. She started out as an accounting technician and then moved on to the position of Payroll Administrator, where she served for three years.

“Veronica is such a dedicated employee and a wonderful person,” said Evans. “I’m so excited for her promotion, and I know she will do a great job.”

Deputy county manager Natalie Bess served as interim human resources manager. Mrs.,

“Veronica has been a valuable member of our team as a Payroll Administrator, and I look forward to working with her in her new role as Director of Human Resources,” Bess said. “She is committed to serving the employees of our county and will play an important role in the advancement of our county.

Hill is from Rocky Mount. She has been married to James Hill for 30 years and they have two children.

“I have been employed in Edgecombe County since March 2007. This job has given me such pride in having a job with friendly colleagues, opportunities and a great work environment,” said Hill. “I am very pleased to have the opportunity to serve as the Director of Human Resources and Representative for Edgecombe County.
