ABU DHABI, 13th August, 2022 (WAM) — The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Chairman of the Board of Education and Human Resources, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan headed all educational institutions in the countries, including governmental and private, at all levels, from preschool to higher education, to intensify efforts to strengthen national identity, Emirati culture, positive values and the Arabic language among students , and to integrate them into teaching programs, curricula and teaching methodology.
Speaking at a virtual meeting of the Education and Human Resources Council, Sheikh Abdullah also affirmed that the preservation and promotion of national identity, Emirati culture and Arabic language are among the priorities. the most important of the leaders of the United Arab Emirates.
He said that the Emirati national history is full of achievements, experiences and success stories that can enrich students’ knowledge, provide them with moral lessons, positive values, skills and wisdom while taking decisions to enable them to be future leaders and effective contributors in UAE society.
He stressed the importance of benefiting from the experiences and expertise of eminent national personalities who know the history of the United Arab Emirates and are familiar with the identity, culture, customs, traditions and positive values of the Emirates, and to underline their role in the preparation of a generation. who carries the flag and adheres to the identity and participates in shaping the future of the nation.
Sheikh Abdallah also underlined the role played by members of society, educators, media professionals in the fight against ideas that seek to destroy the family entity, to promote practices that are not familiar with the approach Emirate, and lead to deteriorate its interdependence and distort the emergence of new generations, thus proposing social models that violate normal human instinct and lead to the deterioration of established morals and values.
During the meeting, Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth, reviewed the national framework for Emirati cultural activities in schools, which includes a number of school policies of Emirati cultural activities that are incorporated into school curricula.
The framework aims to develop the Emirati national identity, cultural values and positive characteristics of students through a set of activities, competitions, events, school trips and workshops in which students will participate during school hours. or after school in coordination with relevant departments. .
In this regard, Al Kaabi said that the framework targets various subjects of Emirati heritage, including traditions, values, social activities, Arabic language, local expressions, folk arts and traditional sports, in addition to improving knowledge and awareness of the country’s geography, Emirati arts and literature, and some successful experiences in the country’s history.
Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology and President of the Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE), reviewed ESE’s priorities for the next year and also explained its priorities, in particular the improvement of the academic results of the pupils and the reinforcement of their skills, close coordination and collaboration with the teachers, the school administration and the parents.
