HIEC appoints three new partners


November 2, 2022 – Global research firm HI Executive Consulting (HIEC) has appointed two new partners, Michael Otte and David Ferguson, to its industry practice in addition to a new partner, Carmen Koch, to its consumer and sales practice by retail.

Prior to joining Kienbaum, Mr. Otte held several executive search roles including six years with Heidrick & Struggles working with clients in the manufacturing, automotive, transportation and logistics industries. , and consumption. He also spent time as a director at AT Kearney and began his career as a project manager focusing on international training and development assignments in Asia and Eastern Europe in Munich, Germany.

Extensive experience

Mr. Ferguson, who will be based in Pensacola, Florida, joins HIEC from The Ropella Group, an executive search firm specializing in the chemical, consumer products and technology industries, where he served as director of client partnership development.

Mr. Ferguson has more than 35 years of experience in the chemical, related and high-tech industries, using a rich blend of technology and networking to build lasting and deep relationships, HIEC said. Prior to The Ropella Group, Mr. Ferguson held several positions including CRSDBCI Project Manager, Placement Manager and Regional Recruitment Manager at ITT/ECAITT, and Operations Manager, Recruitment Manager at Avail-Ability Personnel.

International retail

Ms Koch, who will be based in Germany, joins HIEC from MU, a Frankfurt-based global acquisition and advisory firm, where she was a director and a member of the firm’s consumer markets practice group, co-leading the group global consumer goods market. His customer focus includes global brands, mid-sized and family businesses, and fast-growing companies across a wide range of consumer and retail markets. Ms. Koch has an in-depth knowledge of major international brands based in Germany in the retail sector.

Prior to MU, Ms. Koch was a Client Partner at Korn Ferry where she spent over 13 years across a number of roles. Previously, she was the EMEA market leader for the internal professional research division, focusing on consumer and retail markets. She has been in executive search for nearly 20 years and began her career in employer branding consulting and assessments.

Ms. Mainiero joins HIEC from ZRG Partners where she was COO, managing and overseeing the firm’s global executive search and talent management activity across the firm’s global offices. In this role, Ms. Mainiero provided leadership and direction to the operational functions of the business, including finance, IT, human resources, recruiting and research. During her time at ZRG, she secured a private equity investment to fuel the company’s continued growth. Ms. Mainiero has over 20 years of leadership experience, having previously held a number of roles, including as an executive search partner and senior director of operations at Korn Ferry.
