The Department of International Development has recorded an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and client-focused human resources administrator to join the human resources team. As a core member of our small, friendly team, you will provide high quality generalist HR service to department employees and stakeholders across a diverse range of tasks. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will actively contribute to the smooth running of HR operations on a daily basis; work closely with other team members to support the full employee lifecycle through recruiting, onboarding, payroll and other HR administrative tasks.

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s (or master’s) degree in a relevant subject or be educated at A level with GCSE (AC grade) in English and Mathematics, as well as relevant professional experience in HR. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to proactively develop and maintain professional relationships with all team members. Previous experience providing high level customer service is essential, along with the ability to prioritize workload and produce precise, detailed work on time.

Although the post is a Grade 5 post (£ 26,341- £ 31,406 per year), we would be willing to consider high potential but less experienced applicants who are looking for a development opportunity, for whom the appointment would be at grade 4 (£ 22,847 – £ 26,341 per year) with responsibilities adjusted accordingly. This would be discussed with candidates at the nomination stage, if applicable.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position of 24 months from the start date.
