MOD Pizza has hired a human resources veteran as the chain’s human resources director, the fast casual reported on Wednesday.

Dayna Eberhardt spent more than 13 years in human resources roles at Starbucks, most recently as vice president of human resources for the coffee giant’s Roastery and Reserve stores. Prior to joining MOD, she was Senior Vice President of Global Talent Management for Expedia Group.

In fast casual, Eberhardt will focus on supporting the chain’s more than 8,000 employees through talent development initiatives.

“Dayna’s experience leading and developing great teams, combined with her passion for our purpose, is exactly what we need as we continue to develop MOD across the country,” said Scott Svenson, co- founder and CEO of MOD in a statement. “Dayna and her team will lead our efforts to improve the Squad experience by investing in our learning and talent development capabilities as we continue our journey to become the best place to work in the restaurant industry.

MOD has over 500 branches across North America serving customizable pizzas. The chain reported 2020 system-wide sales of $ 461 million.

“This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join MOD, a growing company that is truly committed to putting people first while having a positive impact in our local communities,” Eberhardt said in a statement. “I look forward to contributing to the journey ahead and continuing to build on the motivated roots on which MOD was founded in order to make a difference for those who work here. “
