FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne men’s soccer team lost a home game to Wright State 4-0 on Saturday (October 9) night at the Hefner Soccer Complex.
Wright State took a 2-0 lead in the 14th minute thanks to a pair of similar goals. Both were set up by shots from Reece Allbaugh. His shots were saved each time, but the deflection allowed Joe Kouadio to score a goal in the 13th minute and Conner Osterholt to score in the 14th minute.
The Mastodons had the majority of chances in the second half, overtaking the Raiders 8-6 in the period and holding a 6-0 lead over corners in the frame. But Wright State made the most of their opportunities. Zion Beaton scored just a few yards in the 72nd minute, then Harvey Slade scored in the 77th minute from a penalty kick.
The ‘Dons tied a season high with 17 shots.
Luke Benford and Keith larson each had three shots at the top of the team for the ‘Donations. Larson got a head on a nice cross Ryan gray in the first few minutes that just went high.
